Sažetak

Surgical intervention remains the most effective approach for managing morbid obesity. The positive outcomes following bariatric procedures are largely attributed to anatomical changes and the resulting shifts in hormonal and metabolic regulation. Building upon outcomes from established techniques, a new hybrid bariatric method has been proposed—combining aspects of sleeve gastrectomy and mini-gastric bypass. This innovative procedure aims to merge the strengths of both techniques: a single anastomosis, combined restrictive and malabsorptive effects, and dual endocrine modulation—elevating incretin levels while reducing ghrelin secretion. While promising in theory, the procedure is still in its early stages and is the subject of further clinical evaluation in an upcoming research study.
